Lunch and Steak Dinners
Shenandoah River Outfitters’ Specialty! Plan to dine with us in 2026 from Memorial Day to Labor Day Saturdays. Reservations need to be made 2 weeks in advance. We need at least 30 for each meal. You can call to see if you can add on to either meal.
Other days by special arrangement with advanced notice and at least 30.
Let our experienced staff cater a riverside lunch. After you paddle halfway leisurely down river, the aroma of hamburgers and grilled onions directs you to a hearty lunch cooked on a one-of-a-kind saw blade skillet. After lunch, you continue on to the most exciting and beautiful part of the of the Shenandoah, a class 2 rapid called “Compton’s Rapid” followed by a deep swimming hole with magnificent towering orange and gray limestone cliffs.
After lunch and more river excursions, in the afternoon, you will paddle on a few more miles past Compton’s to your pickup point and then have a winding scenic ride back to the Outfitters in time to shower, freshen up, and get ready for dinner. Relax at our open air pavilion while dining on the sizzling steak and chicken BBQ along with live entertainment while friends tells stories of their adventure on the Legendary Shenandoah River.

Plan to arrive by at least 10 AM so you are on the river in time to get to lunch by Noon. Dinner starts at 5 PM and usually is over by 6 to 6:30.
You can sign up online or call in. We offer Lunch and Steak dinner most Saturdays from Memorial Day to Labor Day. We do need to have at least 30 signed up to offer meals.
The calendars will show what is now scheduled. If you would like to add on to lunch or dinner, sign up online or just call in. If the calendar says Lunch only or Dinner only–let us know if you want the other meal and have 30 in your group or we might be able to get a group together to make the 30 to have the meals. Just give us a call!
